We are excited to welcome Javon Bass to our board.
A Clarksdale, Mississippi native and University of Memphis graduate, Javon brings a thoughtful blend of creativity, resilience, and community commitment to this role. With a background in advertising and marketing, he understands how strong storytelling and meaningful engagement can help organizations build lasting connections.
Javon currently works at St. Jude as an event planner for a local nonprofit, where he brings energy, purpose, and careful coordination to community-focused work. His professional experience reflects a deep belief in creating spaces where people feel supported, informed, and inspired to take part in something larger than themselves.
As a three-time cancer survivor, Javon also brings a powerful personal perspective to his leadership. His journey has shaped his passionate advocacy for childhood cancer awareness and strengthened his commitment to work that uplifts individuals, families, and communities facing difficult circumstances. That lived experience informs the empathy, determination, and care he brings to every effort.
Javon is also a dedicated advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, and his voice adds important perspective to our board as we continue building a more connected and inclusive future. He leads with heart, creativity, and a clear sense of purpose, always focused on how community work can create real impact.
We are grateful to have Javon joining our board and look forward to the insight he will bring to our organization. His experience in marketing, event planning, advocacy, and nonprofit work will be a meaningful asset as we continue growing our mission and deepening our connection to the communities we serve.
Please join us in welcoming Javon Bass to the board. We are honored to have him with us.
